Review by hotel critic
Guthega Inn provided a charming retreat perfect for ringing in the New Year amidst stunning mountain landscapes. Breakfast was a highlight, featuring a delightful build-your-own hot meal that set us up perfectly for the day; my choice of eggs with mushrooms, haloumi, and hash browns was a pre-ski feast that I recommend to any fellow fitness enthusiasts or early-morning adventurers. The breathtaking views from our room, with sunsets painting the mountains in hues of orange and pink, were a perfect backdrop to unwind after a day on the slopes. I loved that everything we needed was right at our fingertips, from an inviting bar with a solid selection of Australian wines to a restaurant that showcased the flavors of the region, although the evening meal felt a touch overpriced for the experience. For anyone looking to truly embrace the outdoor spirit, Guthega Inn serves as an ideal launching pad for activities-whether skiing, trekking, or simply soaking in the alpine beauty. With easy access to various trails and the biggest ski resort in the Southern Hemisphere at our doorstep, it's a true haven for adventure lovers.
